Science

Yesterday, we watched a Bill Nye video about the respiration system and blood. I learned that every one thousand red blood cell equals exactly one white blood cell. Every day, your body makes 2 billion new red blood cells. Our bodies use blood to carry food, oxygen, and waste. Our bodies have 25 trillion red blood cells. When you breathe, your diaphragm goes down and your lungs fill up. Your lungs have as much surface area as a tennis court. Blood cells are made in your bones. When we eat, and breathe, we give ourselves energy. The heart weighs 300 grams.

Science Centre

On Monday June 8, 2009, our whole class went on a field trip to the Regina Science Centre. It was a long ride there from Moose Jaw, but it was worth it. When we finally got there, we went to the lower level and looked through stereoscopes and looked to see how clean Wascana Lake really is. Emily and I found a side swimmer. It was really cool! We also went and looked around a little bit. I saw lots of amazing things! Like one exhibit where you put your nose up against the booth, lift your leg, and flap your arms. It looks like your flying! After a little looking around, we ate lunch. After that, we went to see a movie at the IMAX Theater! We saw roar and it was so good. We had a long trip back, but again, it was so worth it!

Haiku

Here are some Haikus i did:
Haiku:
The Wind:
A great force it is
It’s the sound of whistling
That makes me feel free

The Moon
Shines bright in the sky
It makes me feel warm inside
The moon is so cool
