Science

Yesterday, we watched a Bill Nye video about the respiration system and blood. I learned that every one thousand red blood cell equals exactly one white blood cell. Every day, your body makes 2 billion new red blood cells. Our bodies use blood to carry food, oxygen, and waste. Our bodies have 25 trillion red blood cells. When you breathe, your diaphragm goes down and your lungs fill up. Your lungs have as much surface area as a tennis court. Blood cells are made in your bones. When we eat, and breathe, we give ourselves energy. The heart weighs 300 grams.

Science Centre

On Monday June 8, 2009, our whole class went on a field trip to the Regina Science Centre. It was a long ride there from Moose Jaw, but it was worth it. When we finally got there, we went to the lower level and looked through stereoscopes and looked to see how clean Wascana Lake really is. Emily and I found a side swimmer. It was really cool! We also went and looked around a little bit. I saw lots of amazing things! Like one exhibit where you put your nose up against the booth, lift your leg, and flap your arms. It looks like your flying! After a little looking around, we ate lunch. After that, we went to see a movie at the IMAX Theater! We saw roar and it was so good. We had a long trip back, but again, it was so worth it!

Haiku

Here are some Haikus i did:
Haiku:
The Wind:
A great force it is
It’s the sound of whistling
That makes me feel free

The Moon
Shines bright in the sky
It makes me feel warm inside
The moon is so cool

Mae Wilson Theater

Who is Mrs. Wilson Tour?
Today we went to the Mae Wilson Theater. I thought the tour was funny and historical. We really learned a lot while being entertained. I liked it because Mickey and Mont were really funny about teaching us the history about the Mae Wilson Theater. Also, when Mont got mad, Mickey would be really stupid. My favorite part of the tour was seeing the stage. It was my favorite part because I love to stand on stages. Acting and comedy can help teach kids about historical places because it is not boring with regular tour guides talking like their board with the tour. It makes it fun to learn. I learned that the Mae Wilson Theater had 4 names before The Mae Wilson Theater-The Monarch, The Allan Theater, The Capital Theater, and The Capital 3 Theater.

Afghanistan Presentation

Afghanistan Presentation
Mr. Park came to our class to do an Afghanistan presentation. He is a teacher at Chaplin, and he is also a volunteer soldier. That means he has a choice to go to Afghanistan. He brought a power point presentation and showed everybody what it is like in Afghanistan. He also talked about what he did and what they had to do. Mr. Park told us that Canada brought a Tim Horton’s, and a hockey rink.

My Easter Break!

Easter Break!
My Easter break is going to be awesome! First of all, I get to paint my room! No more boring old blue and badge! Pink, white, and orange are the colors I am painting it. It is going to be so fantabulous! Also, I might get my horse back from being broke at my cousin’s house. Her name is Sprit and she is a Bay Quarter Horse/Appaloosa cross. My Easter break is mostly going to be all about training My lambs, Mini, Mickey, and Dewy, for achievement day.

# one star!

# 1 star!
In class, we do this thing called # One star. Our teacher, Miss Johnson, picks a student to be the # one star. Everyone in the classroom has to write 3 positive words about that person. Then, we read out our words one at a time. Then, that person comes and tells us about them selves. We do this because to make that person feel good about them selves, and to be proud!

my weekend!

What I’m doing on the weekend!
On the weekend, I am maybe going to Jenna’s house. Other than that, I’m doing nothing special, except for the 4-h wild life supper on Saturday, March 28. I’ll probably be spending most of my time at the barn, though. But, if it is muddy out, you can find me in the puddles! Also, my mom’s friend, Rena, is coming out on Friday!

what it takes to be a good writer

What it takes to be a good writer:
First, you need a very good grabber lead, a beginning, middle and end, and a very awesome clincher close. Also, you need to make what is being said clear, don’t have any choppy sentences. It has to be very interesting. Have a lot happening at all times. When you finish, you can revise. That means that you read over your story and change anything that you may want to change. The very most important thing is TO STICK TO YOUR TOPIC!

Recess!

Why I love Recess:

Science Resources

Science
In Science, we are learning about resources. Some natural resources are water, grass, gold, oil, potash, trees, and diamonds. Some ways I can help the environment are to not leave the tap running while I brush my teeth, and to not stay in the shower to long. Also, to not wash my SUV in the driveway
.

Signs of Spring!

When spring arrives, I pull out my rubber boots, and my brother and I go from puddle to puddle seeing how deep they are. Yesterday, I was mud sliding and hit a rock and tumbled down a hill and took a face plant in the mud! But, my most favorite part of spring is when farmers and ranchers let their horses out for the first time since fall. They roll around, and sniff at the ground. It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Also, I get to stop wearing those big winter jackets!

Our Social Plays

In Social, we are learning about explorers. Our teacher, Miss. Johnson, assinged us to make a play. We had to decide on our costumes, our parts, and the props. We performed on Friday, March 6,2009. My group(Me , Carley,Liam,Jordan,Jacob, and Chevy),had to go twice because Jordan's mom was going to be late, and by the time everyone else had gone, she still wasn't there. When she finally got there, she wanted to see it, so we did a ''private'' performance for her. It was a lot of fun!
Anyways,
Bye for now
